Diploma in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage

This is an internal programme for academic staff who have no formal training in Islamic religious knowledge. It aims to provide them with basic knowledge of Islamic Studies as a discipline of study with special emphasis on its methods of inquiry. It is meant to equip them with the capacity to evaluate human acquired knowledge from the Islamic perspective and to carry out research which is interdisciplinary in nature in line with the university’s mission of Islamicisation of human knowledge.

The programme involves 120 contact hours divided into six modules of 18 hours and a seminar course on the integration of knowledge with 12 contact hours. Classes are held on weekends and the medium of instruction is English.

Entry Requirements

Since this is an internal programme, all IIUM academic staff are eligible to join.
